Washington - Barbara "Bobbi" Bridge, 93, transitioned peacefully on July 15, 2025 in her home in Bellevue, WA.
Bobbi was born on May 2nd, 1932, in Seattle, WA. She was the youngest of three children and grew up in Capitol Hill. She met the love of her life, Bob Bridge, during her freshman year at the University of Washington. She left school when her first child was born, cherishing her role as mother to four boys on Mercer Island. But Bobbi's intellectual curiosity took over, so when her kids were old enough she returned to the U to get a B.A. in psychology and an M.A. in education.
Her career in education spanned her entire life. Bobbi poured her heart and soul into Temple DeHirsch Sinai, where she spent countless hours volunteering and ensuring that Jewish traditions and values were passed down to the next generation, serving as principal of the Religion School, ultimately serving as President of the Congregation. Her belief in the formative nature of early education was so strong that Bobbi also taught first graders at The Seattle Hebrew Academy for 20 years. Her commitment to the Jewish community called her to chair both the campaign to build the URJ Camp Kalsman and Temple De Hirsch's East Side Campus, among others.
Bobbi's life with Bob became the gold standard of partnerships - a wonderful example of mutual respect, love, and enjoyment in each other's company. Bobbi was a committed Mariners fan and proud season ticket holder since the team's first year in 1977. Her dedication was so legendary, that she was awarded Fan of the Year in 2015 and had the honor of throwing out the first pitch.
Through all her pursuits and relationships, she brought love and joy and an appreciation for beauty wherever she went.
Together they had four sons: Brad (and Dveera), Ed (and Pam), Ted (and Marilyn) and Marty (z"l). She is the proud grandmother of five: Yael (and Eriq), Marc (and Julia), Rami (and Tessa), Lisa (and Gilad) & Aviv (and Alixandra), and great grandmother of eight with a ninth on the way.
Contributions in her name can be made to Temple DeHirsch Sinai or the charity of the person's choice.
