Bellevue, Washington - Barbara passed away peacefully on April 16th after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to James and Lucille Riley. The family moved cross country to Washington state in the early 1940s.

Barbara graduated from Holy Names Academy in 1957 and attended the University of Washington. She married her high school sweetheart, Ed Easter, and quickly had four children.

Barbara had a love of animals. It was not uncommon for the family to have four stray dogs, four stray cats, a rabbit, a chipmunk, a rat and a guinea pig at any given time. She loved traveling and collecting antiques, especially those with a rabbit motif. She enjoyed music, her favorites being show tunes and opera, and had a beautiful voice.

Barbara had a variety of jobs over the years, but had great satisfaction working at Forest Ridge School in the front office and as an assistant to the head of the school, as well her many years as a veterinary assistant at the Cat and Dog Clinic of Bellevue. After retiring, she spent her time volunteering for Advocacy and Caring for Children (ACC). Her involvement included serving as president and treasurer of the organization, and as chairperson for her ACC circle. She wholeheartedly supported ACC's efforts for the benefit of the children they serve.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 64 years, Ed Easter; her children, Catherine (Craig Howard), Susan Brandes (Tom), Michael, David (Gerard Fasoli); grandchildren, Kate and Peter Brandes, Riley and Clare Howard; the beloved family pets, Riley and Millie; and several nieces, nephews and many other family members. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, James and Mary. Barbara will be terribly missed and never forgotten.
