Washington - Loving mother, wife, and friend

Candice Grace Delcamp, 71, of Covington Washington passed away on March 19, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was born on April 3, 1952, in Detroit, to the late James and Allean (Holland) Meister. In 1952 baby Candy moved with her family to the last frontier, Alaska. She attended and graduated from Dimond High School in Anchorage in 1970, and soon after took her first job at BGA Furniture Sales. From there pursuing her career long profession of Credit Manager, retiring from Bridgestone/Firestone in 2007. In 1974 she married Jerry Delcamp in Anchorage where they built a new home and raised their 4 children, Susan, Jalean, Carolyn and Mike.

Candice was a kind, generous, and giving person who touched the lives of many people through a good joke, a thoughtful gift, a well-timed fright and the greatest hugs. She loved crafting, gardening, boating, connecting with friends and family, and driving her very fast 1967 Chevy Camaro. She was a loving and caring mother who always encouraged her children. She was proud of their achievements and celebrated their milestones. She was also a doting grandmother to her four grandsons, Gavin, Conor, Jonathan, and Christopher, who brought her joy and comfort in her final days.

Candice is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Jerry Delcamp; her children, Susan (Josh) Love, Jalean (Tad Amsbury) Delcamp, Carolyn (Richard) McGuire, Michael (Gillian Maguire) Delcamp and Jenny (Dickson) Hand; her 4 grandsons; her sister Debra Meister; her sister, Sheryl (LeRoye) Walton; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Allean Meister.

A memorial service will be held at Candy and Jerry's home in late spring. Details will be shared at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Candy's memory to the American Cancer Society https://donate.cancer.org/ or Providence Hospice of Seattle give.providence.org/wa/hospiceseattle .

The family would like to thank the staff of Providence Hospice of Seattle for their compassionate and professional care of Candy during her illness. They would also like to thank all the friends and relatives who offered their prayers, support, and condolences during this difficult time.

Candice will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She will always be remembered for her great laugh, her warm heart, and her generous spirit.
