WA - Catherine (Kay) Martina Rigley passed away on June 10, 2025 peacefully in her Edmonds Bowl, Washington, home with Mary, her spouse, at her side. They were together for 39 years and married in April 2014. Kay's courageous battle with ovarian cancer was over. Born in Enniscorthy, Ireland on June 5, 1957, to father John and mother Mai Kelly she was raised on a farm picking strawberries with her brothers Lar, John and Andy. She is survived by nephew Stephen, nieces Gillian & Lorna and sister in law Anne. Over the years, Kay practiced her nursing skills in Zimbabwe, Saudi Arabia and the United States. Having settled in Seattle, Washington, she later became a real estate broker. She loved playing tennis, golf, singing, the guitar and any competitive activity. To all who knew her, she was a trusted confidante whose smile and mischievous demeanor would light up a room. Always ready to initiate or continue merriment, she brought out the best in people and was a joy to be around. Once you met Kay, you knew you had a friend for life. The eternal optimist, she always looked for the good in people and tried to bring that out in them. She could nourish your body with food and your soul with love and tenderness. She relished life and treasured all the people she had met. Kay had a life well lived.
