Washington - Charles 'Chuck' Barbo passed away on April 10, 2022 in Mount Vernon, Washington. He lived independently until his 91st birthday, when a brain tumor led to his quick decline and living his last two months in hospice care.
Chuck was born January 9, 1931 in River Falls, WI to Marie Lillian Stelsel Barbo and George William Barbo and grew up in Hammond, Wisconsin. He attended Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky before transferring to the University of Wisconsin in Madison, where he graduated in 1954 with a BS in Chemical Engineering. Chuck's career in the pulp and paper industry took him and his family around the US and eventually to Washington state, which he said he never wanted to leave.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Nancy his wife of 64 years (d. 2020), and daughter-in-law Pat (Brian). He is survived by his sister Dorothy and his six children, Brian Barbo, Laura (Bob) Ostdiek, Sharon (Will) Stephenson, Karen (Robert) Breshears, Eric (Susie) Barbo, and Rod (Rebecca) Barbo. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, and 10 (and counting) great-grand-children.
