Charles Edward Gaylord (Chuck) Obituary

Wa - Chuck sailed into his last sunset March 07 2025. He was born at St. Joseph's Hospital in Aberdeen, WA. on December 07, 1931, growing up in Quinault. His family moved to Seattle, and then Bothell when he was in the third grade. Chuck attended Bothell High School, where he met his high school sweetheart and future wife of 74 years, Evelyn Kelley. He joined the Navy after he and Evie were married. He served in the Marshall Islands in the highly classified "Castle Project" testing hydrogen bombs. When he left the Navy, he and Evie moved back to Bothell. He owned and operated "Chuck's Bothell Chevron" and was active in many community projects. Chuck and Evie raised 3 children - son Mike (Colleen), daughter Shannon (widowed) and son Brian (Michelle). Survived by 3 grandchildren Anna, Logan, and Bree, and by 4 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by son-in-law Dave. Dad had many interests - buying and selling real estate, building sailboats, and building commercial structures. He loved sailing and reading (although he always read the last chapter first). He was a great storyteller. He and Evie traveled extensively and loved spending time with friends and browsing thrift stores.

"Gone from our sight, but not from our hearts".
