Kent, Washington - Our father, Charles Clinton Peterson, AKA: Chuck, Clint, Pete, passed away on February 11, 2021 from injuries related to a simple fall. Dad was born in Burke, South Dakota on June 25, 1935. He was the son of Charles Peterson and Gail Guiles. When in high school he moved to the Kent area with his father and graduated from Kent-Meridian in 1954. He entered the Army following high school and served as a radio technician. He came back to Kent and was the boy on the lake with a boat. He met the love of his life, Judy Thompson, on the lake and bribed her onto a date. They were engaged by Christmas and married on her birthday in August 1959. They just celebrated 61 years of marriage. He worked for over 35 years at IBM as a computer technician specialist, at Boeing in Kent.
They have 7 children, Charles Clinton Peterson (Nancy Brenneman) of East Wenatchee; Johna (David Thomson) of Black Diamond; Paige (Tim Patrick) of Okanogan, Colin (Kris Bearss) of Kent; Cameron (Tanya Brown) of Kent, Darcey of Lake Sawyer; and Keelyn (James Hogan) of Kent. Dad was a wonderful grandfather to 25 kids whom he loved and adored. He was also blessed with 10 great grandchildren.
He provided for his family after retirement by helping with construction projects with his sons and sharing his numerous skills to anyone of the kids wanting to learn. He was a man of many talents and great knowledge. He was a founding member of John the Baptist Catholic Church in Covington. He served many years helping others in the Knights of Columbus, St. Vincent de Paul, and Pregnancy Aid of Kent and Tacoma. He was a scout leader for Boy Scout Troop 480. He and mom also spent many wonderful years Square Dancing with Wagon Wheels of Kent.
Family services will be 11:00 am at St. John the Baptist of Covington on Tuesday, February 16.
