Daniel Dean Loshbaugh (Dano) Obituary

Daniel Dean Loshbaugh passed away after a long battle with cancer surrounded by his grandchildren, granddaughter Kaia (16) and grandson Baker (12), daughter in law Chelsea, son Gabriel and wife of 50 years Melodee. With the courage of a warrior Dan exercised his right to die with dignity.

He went out on his own terms on Independence Day! Out with a bang! Dan is preceded in death and reunited with his beloved son Brock Loshbaugh who was waiting in the wings for his dad's arrival.

Eagle Scout, US Army Reservist, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Lifetime member, Wenatchee Corvette Board Member, Woodinville WA business owner/entrepreneur and most importantly member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 39 years where he was a role model for many in the recovery community. He lived a life of service.

Avid outdoorsman and big game hunter who travelled all across the Pacific Northwest following his true passion.

Dan was born in Spokane, WA on August 21st 1951. He grew up in Chattaroy, WA and graduated from Riverside High School in 1969.

In 2004, Dan along with his wife and son founded Brock's Academy in Woodinville, Washington. As CFO of the company, his dogged vision of what the school could become he grew the organization from 3 to 65 employees with a school in Woodinville and one in University Place. Over the last 20 plus years his contribution has impacted the lives of hundreds of families and children across the state of Washington.

He is leaving behind a legacy in education, especially in the special needs community that will carry on for years to come.

Dan knew how to have fun! He was a man that loved his big boy toys. He was a car guy and loved polishing and driving his Corvettes, taking friends out on his boat on the Columbia River and road-tripping in his RV. He never lost his ability to play like a kid. People were attracted to his magnetic personality and fun kid energy. He left very little gas in the tank when he left!

Dan was an Eagle Scout through and through. He was an individual with integrity and a strong moral core. He was also not afraid to speak his mind when he came across an injustice. Dan believed in the Law of attraction and practiced it every day. He was strong willed, determined, and when he set his mind on a goal you better get out of the way because one way or other it was going to happen.

Dan's spiritual path followed the traditions of the Native American Indians. He found his God in the mountains. On his journey he experienced several profound vision quest experiences that served to strengthen his belief in a higher power or energy recognizing that this human experience was just a brief moment in time.

Athlete, Coach and Mentor who cared deeply for children's success. Many Woodinville locals knew him as "Dano",

A Seattle Seahawks 22-year season ticket holder "Go Hawks". Dan rarely missed a game. With four seats he delighted in taking buddies and employees to games. He always wore the full Seahawks garb, would arrive early and stay late.

He was also a Diehard Seattle Mariners fan who loved watching "The Kid" in his prime. Including being in attendance for Game 5 of 1995 Divisional Playoff series against the Yankees when Edgar hit "The Double" and we all watched #24 wheel around those bases!

Dan loved his grandchildren fiercely and cherished spending time with them at baseball games, his ranch and the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
