David Bolden Worgan, age 75, passed away on February 6, 2026. He was born at Madigan Hospital on November 11, 1950, to Mary Virginia "Ginger" Worgan and David K. Worgan. He was preceded in death by his parents along with his beloved sister, Nancy Pregg (Worgan).
He is survived by his children and their partners, Bolden Worgan and his wife Katie, Madison Worgan, and Sophia Malek (Worgan) and her husband Tyler. He was known as 'Big Boss' to his grandchildren, Jayden, Paislee, Bolden Jr., Virginia, Elsy, and Billie who will greatly miss him.
David grew up in Seattle, Washington and attended Lakeside and Roosevelt High School where he made many of his lifelong friends. Upon Graduation, David played football for the University of Washington Huskies and received his BA in political science. He went on to serve as a Navy pilot before building a long and respected career as a commercial pilot for Alaska Airlines until his retirement.
David was defined by his relationships, to be his friend was to be family. To all of you who supported our dad after his stroke and us on the journey as caregivers these last 5 years, our thanks cannot be overstated. Your love and loyalty serve as a testament to the kind of man he was, thank you for showing us again and again what a beautiful enigma he was.
Our dad was one of a kind—the biggest pain in your ass and the kindest, truest friend you could ever have. He loved life's simple pleasures: drinking a cold beer by a pool (mas cervezas), taking long road trips with Hendrix blasting, and talking life for hours with his favorite people. To know him was to sit in his sunshine, sometimes stand against his hail storm, but always know that if the going got tough, he'd be right there beside you— ready for a fight (even if it wasn't needed).
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
We'll miss you, Big Boss. Rex. Dave. Dad. Beloved, David.
Keep shining on us, now be cool and we love you, no sh-t.
Please join us for a celebration of his life Sunday March 22nd, 11am at The Duchess Tavern.
