WA - In Loving Memory of Diane Lee Cohn September 16, 1932 - May 14, 2025
Diane Lee Cohn (née Miller) transitioned peacefully on May 14, 2025, carried in the hearts of her large and loving family that was the center of her world. Born in Seattle on September 16, 1932, to Morris Miller, founding family of Seattle Quilt Mfg. Co., and Rose (Sherman) Miller, Diane was the first of two daughters—and from the start, she brought joy and energy into every room she entered.
A life-long adventurer and passionate spirit, Diane spent over 30 years in Southern California before returning to Seattle for her final chapter—a chapter filled with love, laughter, and a romance with Jerry Cohn that could rival any Hollywood script. Together, they built a life full of family, friendship, activity, and joy.
Diane's life was rich with the things she adored: art, travel, family gatherings, festive parties, beach walks, mountain views, manicures, flowers, books, Jewish traditions, fashion, interior design, and causes close to her heart. She was widely known for her ability to fundraise, garnering thousands for Rotary's Global Polio Eradication Initiative and the Jewish National Fund. Her travels took her across the globe—to Europe, Mexico, Israel, Africa, Japan, and Asia—but Camano Island always held a special place in her heart. In the Camano area she was an active member of the Camano Island Yacht Club, Camaloch Ladies Golf Club, and stayed active in a book club and garden club.
She was a force of nature—vivacious, stylish, curious, and full of stories and laughter. She had energy for every adventure and a heart big enough to hold the stories of her seven children, 12 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
Diane is survived by her sister and best friend Bette Rosenbloom, her "baby" brother Charles Staadecker, and a wide circle of beloved children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Her legacy is one of connection, love, and boundless energy.
She died as she lived—gracefully, joyfully, and on her own terms—peacefully in her sleep with a clean heart, and a family who adored her.
A celebration of life for both Diane and Jerry Cohn will be held at Glendale Country Club, 13440 Main St, Bellevue, WA 98005, at 11:30am, Saturday, August 2nd, 2025.
In lieu of flowers, please honor Diane by taking a long walk, hugging someone you love, and being kind to someone you don't know. Contributions to the Rotary International Bequest Society in her name would also be deeply appreciated.
As Diane often said, "Love you to the moon and back."
