1937 - 2025
Dock Jordan, 88, of Seattle, died October 13, 2025. Born in Hazard, Kentucky to George and Rosie Lee Jordan, he was the middle child of twelve sisters and brothers. Dock graduated from high school and in 1955 joined the US Air Force where he trained and served as a Medical Service Technician, and Administrator. Traveling extensively around the world, his service and commitment as a Master Sergeant in the AirForce earned him many meritorious, commendation and service medals before he retired in 1977.
After retiring from military service, he began another successful career with A.M.B. Maintenance, where he worked faithfully for 18 years and received multiple commendations for excellence in leadership and management. He volunteered for many years with the Seattle Emergency Feeding Program (EFP) earning a Special Service Award in 2014. A devoted member of Walker Chapel A.M.E. Church, Dock served with integrity and dedication as a Trustee, President of the Laymen's Organization, and an Honorary Member of the Missionary Society. His faith was steadfast, his service unwavering, and his love for the Lord an example to all who knew him. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening - especially anything purple and he loved music, often humming or singing along, always a beat or two behind, bringing smiles to those around him.
Dock is survived by his wife of 63 years, Annice; two sons and three daughters. His legacy continues through his eight grandchildren; and a host of great, and great great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and eight of his siblings. He leaves to cherish his memory, sisters Lillian Jordan, Carolyn Jordan, and brother Carlos B. Jordan of Ohio along with a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Dock's journey from Hazard, Kentucky to global service in the Air Force, building a family, and then to his community work in Seattle is a testament to a life well lived. He lived a life of faith, family, service, and love. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him. A Celebration of Life will be hosted Saturday, November 15th, 2025, at 11:00am at Walker Chapel AME Church, 2400 E. Valley Road, Renton WA 98057. He will be laid to rest at the Tahoma National Cemetery, Kent WA.
