On March 9th 2023, Edna Marie Gochnour (Johnson), a loving Mom, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and a dear friend to many, passed away peacefully at the age of 103. Edna was born in the small town of Milnor, North Dakota to Selma (Moberg) and Peter Johnson, oldest of 5 children. They lived and worked on a farm. She graduated from high school in 1939 then attended college in Valley City, North Dakota. She had the opportunity to teach with her best friend and sister, Evelyn. In 1945 during WWII, she and a friend hopped on a train to find out what was happening in Seattle. Eventually ending up in Fall City, WA, where she began teaching for the Snoqualmie Valley School District. In 1947 Edna met Harold Gochnour. He was a true outdoorsman. They shot trap, fished, hunted and enjoyed all things outside. They had 2 children, George 1953 and Denver 1956. Harold passed away in 1961. She continued to teach as a single mother until 1990, retired at the young age of 70. She loved the Seahawks, Mariners, Storm and any Seattle sports team.
Edna is survived by son George (Mary Anne), daughter Denver (Tina), sister Evelyn McCracken, 5 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Preceded in death by 3 siblings.
A celebration of life will be held from 3:00 to 7:00 pm on 6-17-2023 at Fairway Estates, 1427 100th St. SW, Everett, WA 98204.
