Loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother Ellan Joy Nelson, age 79 of Mill Creek, WA passed away October 9, 2023. Ellan passed peacefully surrounded by family and friends.

Ellan was preceded in death by her husband Warner and is survived by her two boys and their spouses - Jordan & Bree and Lang & KC - and four grandchildren - Kole, Sadie, Brody and Jack. Ellan is also survived by her sister, Gail Dennison, and sister-in-law, Mona Beth McBride.

Ellan was born to Allan and Ruth Horner in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Ellan's father passed shortly after her birth and Ruth remarried James Dennison, who adopted Ellan. After spending a few years in the British Columbia interior, the family relocated to Victoria, BC. Ellan is a graduate of Victoria's Royal Jubilee Hospital School of Nursing Class of January 1965, starting her career in health care.

After graduating from nursing school, Ellan moved to Seattle, WA to work at the University of Washington Hospital's pulmonary department. Ellan's career in health care spanned more than 40 years including roles in nursing and health care administration. Ellan's achievements included publishing a respiratory therapy clinical care manual and earning an MBA. Ellan was an active volunteer with the American Red Cross and Mill Creek Women's Club.

Warner and Ellan spent their retirement years traveling, golfing and enjoying friends and family. In remembrance of Ellan's life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to the American Red Cross or a charity of your choice.
