Ellen Rowley Donley Obituary

WA 98074 - Ellen R Donley passed away on October 28th at the age of 100. She lived in Sammamish, Wa. Ellen was born in Morgantown, West Virginia. She is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-three years Joseph Donley and their daughter Kerry who passed at age seven. She is survived by her two daughters Jessie Becker and Carol Black; four grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren; a sister and a brother.

Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Ellen would describe her as larger than life with a great sense of humor. Ellen was an accomplished artist who attended both the Cornish and UW Schools of Art. She was affiliated with numerous galleries including Louise Matsky and Sydney art galleries.

While her husband was in the Marine Corp stationed in the Pacific during WW II, she was a Rosie the Riveter helping build the Navy Hellcat and at the same time attending Philadelphia Museum School of Applied Arts.

To her family she was giving and loving. We will dearly miss her.

We would like to thank Aeon Senior Living in Sammamish for all their love and support. They truly thought of her as family.
