Mr. Frank Medina (Franco) Obituary

WA - Frank Medina, 94, died peacefully on April 27, 2025, from Alzheimer's disease. It is fitting that he died on Divine Mercy Sunday and the day of Pope Francis' funeral as his faith was important to him in his later years.

Ezequiel Franco Medina was the fifth child of 8 surviving children of Daniel and Maria Medina. He was born on April 10, 1931, in the United States, but grew up in Morelia, Mexico. He attended the Sagrada Familia Boys School where he acquired his lifelong love of music, singing in the school choir. He moved to Mexico City and worked in the early days of color television where a friend and colleague encouraged him to establish his US citizenship. At 18, without speaking a word of English, he traveled to Los Angeles, CA. Once there, he found work and learned the language. He enrolled in school to study electrical engineering and business administration while also working nights wiring planes for Lockheed Martin.

Frank saved money and pursued a dream to travel to famous European cities, London, Berlin, Paris and Rome. He planned an extended stay in Rome where, by chance he met his wife, Luigina Venturi. It was love at first sight. They were married at San Damiano e Cosimo Church on August 6, 1960.

Franco, as he was called by his wife, returned to the US opting to live in Seattle, WA near one of his sisters. Gina joined him and they began a life together raising three daughters. He was entrepreneurial and always pursued business ideas with Gina supporting his vision. In 1964 they launched The Mediterranean, an Italian fashion boutique in downtown Seattle and operated the business together for many years. Later in his career Frank worked in real estate.

He loved his wife and daughters and was happiest entertaining friends and family with Gina. They both found great joy in spending time with their grandchildren. He was a passionate lover of opera and enjoyed listening to arias with the sound at full volume. He passed on his love of music to his daughters.

He is survived by daughters Cristina Bailet (Jerrold), Anna Eberhardt (Patrick), Paola Medina (Duncan McColl) and four grandchildren, Adam and Elena Eberhardt, Joanna and Jacob Bailet, and a brother George Medina. The family wishes to thank Adina Puravet for her tender care in his final years.
