George Richard Slater Obituary

Washington - Longtime Renton, WA resident George R Slater passed away May 27, 2024 at the age of 95.


George was born January 11, 1929 in PA. He served in the Air Force for 4 years, and graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Mech Eng. George worked for McDonnell Douglas in MO for 16 years and then transferred to Boeing and moved to Renton. He retired in 1991.


He was an active member of St. Anthony Parish in Renton where he volunteered, ushered, and sang in their choir. He enjoyed fly fishing, gardening, and flying R-C airplanes.


George is survived by two nieces, one nephew, and many great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Bernice and Charles Slater of Renton and brother Charles (Dolores) Slater of MN.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on June 25th preceded by visitation at 10 am, both at St. Anthony Catholic Parish in Renton. Interment will be at Greenwood Memorial Park at 2 pm.
