WA - Gregory (Gregg) Francis Haughian, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. Born on November 25, 1947, in Seattle, Washington, to Louise and Gerald Haughian, Gregg was the youngest of six, joining his siblings Jerry, Mike, Pat, Betty, and Maureen.
Gregg attended Lincoln High School, where he wrote for the school newspaper. He continued his education at the University of Washington, earning a degree in Communication, and later achieved a Master's degree in Administration from the University of Puget Sound.
Professionally, Gregg's career took him across the western United States, selling pharmaceuticals and software. He later found his niche in cellular project management.
In his younger days, Gregg enjoyed fishing, kayaking, gardening, playing with his Newfoundland dogs, and visiting the ocean. In later years, he found solace watching the nature on Echo Lake from his window, as well as cheering on the Mariners and Husky football teams.
He was a deep lover of music, especially Jazz, the Beatles and Simon and Garfunkel and spent time volunteering with Earshot Jazz Foundation. However, his greatest pride always remained his family: his wife of 55 years, Judy; his children, Moira and Connor (Shaina); and his cherished grandsons, Maceo (13) and Winston (11).
A celebration of Gregg's life will be held at the Ballard Elks Lodge (6411 Seaview Ave NW) on Saturday, April 5th from 2:00 to 5:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to Earshot Jazz.
