Gregory Lubomir Welyczko, age 91, of Seattle, Washington passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 8, 2024. Gregory led an extraordinary life across three continents, gained fluency in at least six languages, and rose from poverty as a refugee from Eastern Europe to become a successful engineering professional in America.
Gregory's warm, engaging spirit will be missed by his sons Roman Welyczko and Andrew Welyczko, daughters-in-law Laurie Pinard and Kathrine Welyczko, his much beloved granddaughters Kira Mary and Molly Elizabeth, niece Irene Fanning, cousin Danylo Centore, and many other family members, colleagues, friends, and neighbors.
In lieu of flowers, Gregory's family requests that donations be made to any organizations providing support for refugees and other victims of the war in Ukraine, such as the following compiled by United Way of King County:
