Bothell, WA - Howard Wayne Hagen, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, coach, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was 80 years old.
Born in Ballard, Washington, to Norwegian immigrants Henning and Connie Hagen, Howard was raised with a strong sense of community and heritage. He graduated from Ballard High School in 1962 and continued his education at Everett Junior College and Seattle Pacific College. A dedicated patriot, Howard proudly served in the Army National Guard.
Howard enjoyed a distinguished 30+ year career in banking, where his integrity and leadership earned him the respect of countless customers and colleagues. In 1987, he founded Banker's Baseball, dedicating nearly three decades to coaching and mentoring young athletes. His commitment to their growth led to dozens of players earning college scholarships and five achieving MLB first-round draft status. A highlight of his coaching career was leading his team to the 1999 Connie Mack World Series.
Above all, Howard's greatest joy was his family. Known for his boundless love, humor, and calm presence, he leaves behind an immeasurable legacy. His impact touched many lives, from players and colleagues to friends and loved ones.
Howard is survived by his devoted wife, Gigi; sons Scott, Jeff (Libby), and Ben (CiCi); daughter Nicolette (Mike); granddaughter Amanda (Logan); brother Norm; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and former players. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered. Once a Banker always a Banker.
