WA - Jason Olaf Syltebo was born on February 14, 1974 in Seattle and passed away on October 24, 2025 at his home in Lake Stevens. Jason grew up in Bellevue, Washington and graduated from Eastside Catholic High School. He attended Washington State University for a year but ultimately graduated from the University of Washington.

Jason proved to be an incredibly talented artist and musician at a young age. He found a way to use his creative talents by earning an additional degree in Digital Audio Engineering at Shoreline Community College. Jason spent most of his career at Microsoft, starting out as the Audio Lead who designed the sound effects for Microsoft Flight. From there, he moved to Sound Designer, and finally Senior Audio Designer, working on projects that ranged from HoloLens to Skype.

When Jason was not working, he could be found pursuing any of his many hobbies: gardening, beer making, working on his cars, fishing on his boat, or creating some masterpiece in the kitchen with his exceptional culinary skills. Jason also remained an avid musician, even building a music recording studio in his house that he rented to others.

Jason's greatest accomplishment, his greatest pride, and his favorite pastime was his family. He leaves behind his wife of 20 years, Tiffany; and his two daughters, Indiana and Amelia, to whom he was completely devoted. They will remember him as the funny, loving father who cracked jokes and serenaded them on his guitar.

Jason also leaves behind a large, loving extended family: his brothers Andy Syltebo (Kimberly), Kevin Syltebo, and Will Nylund, his sister Brooke Orth (Paul); his mother Laurie Jarvela; his stepmother Danna Anderson (Kermit); one nephew, five nieces; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Mark Syltebo. Jason's death leaves a huge hole in his family and he will never be forgotten.
