Jeanne Ann Marie Nark Obituary

Jeanne Ann Marie Nark was born on July 4, 1933 in New Westminster, B.C, Canada and passed away peacefully in the company of her family on June 7, 2025. Jeanne grew up as the oldest of four children in New Westminster and lived there until she graduated from high school, when she moved to Redondo Beach, CA to work as a flight attendant for United Airlines. Jeanne met her husband and best friend, Ted, in Redondo Beach and they married six months later.

They moved to Columbus, Ohio where their first three sons were born. In 1962, they moved to Wichita, KS, where they had another son. Later in 1962, they moved to the house in Bellevue, WA where Jeanne had three more children and spent the rest of her life.

Jeanne's family and her Woodridge community defined her. She was active in the Woodridge Elementary School PTA, Woodridge Swim Club and Sacred Heart Church. She spent her days feeding and caring for her family and neighborhood kids and on the sidelines of soccer games, track meets, swimming pools and other events. She enjoyed her daily walks with her neighborhood "walking committee" and loved reading, word games and game shows, happy hour with her friends, Camano Island, visiting her kids and grandkids, handwritten notes for every occasion or none at all, afternoon tea, seashells and vacations. Jeanne took a genuine interest in other people and their stories, and never met a stranger.

Jeanne is survived by her children Ted (Lourdes), Kyle (Linda), Joel, Rob, Elizabeth (Steve) and Sarah (Eric), as well as 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, her sisters Rosemary Shumka and Heather Moulin (Frank) and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted; her son, Tim; her parents, Violet and James McCurrach; and her brother, Bill McCurrach.

A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, June 11 at 12:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Bellevue, WA. A reception and internment will follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in remembrance of Jeanne to Catholic Community Services of Western Washington, 100 23rd Ave. S, Seattle, WA 98144, or National Alliance on Mentally Ill Eastside, 16305 NE 87th Street, Ste 122, Redmond, WA 98052.
