Joanne Burdick (Cookie) Obituary

Bremerton, Washington - JoAnne Burdick died peacefully, with her family by her side, on Saturday March 27. She was 87. JoAnne was born in Seattle to Joe and Constance Cook. She and her brother Jim grew up and attended high school on Queen Ann Hill. She had a love for ice skating and skiing and was an active participant in her high school ski club.

JoAnne attended the UW and was a member of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority. It was there that she met and married Richard Burdick in 1953. After a brief move to Eastern Washington, they moved to Bellevue where they raised their three daughters. In 1963 they built their cabin in Poulsbo where they spent many weekends, holidays and summers sharing time with friends and extended family. JoAnne earned the reputation as a fabulous cook, especially for her Christmas morning cinnamon rolls.

In 1978 they built their retirement home at their cabin property, where they continued to entertain and share time with their many close friends. After 44 years of treasured times in Poulsbo, JoAnne and Dick moved to Bremerton. She was married to Dick for 63 before he passed in 2016.

She is survived by her 3 daughters, 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

At her request, there will be no service.
