John A. Wahl Jr. Obituary

Washington - John A. Wahl Jr., 89, of Port Angeles, left this life on November 10, 2023.

The son of John A. Wahl Sr. and Elma (Armstrong) Wahl, John graduated from Lakeside High School, Seattle, class of 1952. After attending the University of Washington, he spent two years in the US Army. A lifelong Washington resident, John worked as a logger, cattle rancher and business owner before retiring from Boeing after a long career in sales.


John was an enthusiastic Freemason. He was recognized for 25 years of service as a member of Crescent Lodge #109 F. & A. M., Enunclaw, and was also active with Thornton F. McElroy Lodge #302, Federal Way.


John chose Port Angeles as his home in retirement. He loved fishing and boating and was active with the Port Angeles Yacht Club for a time. For many years John was the Great Olympic Peninsula Duck Derby Race top ticket seller; each year he could be found at the downtown Port Angeles Safeway selling tickets every day in May.


John A. Wahl Jr. was laid to rest at Tahoma National Cemetery on November 22, 2023. He is survived by his loving daughters Valerie Wahl (Spokane) and Lisa Wahl (Olympia); 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
