Judith Louise Fawcett Obituary

WA - Judy had a loud and joyous laugh that filled a room.

Born in Seattle to Floyd and Margaret Fawcett, Judy grew up in the Bryant neighborhood and relocated to Sheridan Heights where she was in the first graduating class at Shoreline High School in 1958. She attended Washington State University pledging Chi Omega sorority and graduated from the University of Washington with a master's degree in education. Judy taught her entire career, originally as an elementary school teacher and later as a middle school counselor in the Northshore School District. Judy enjoyed mentoring young people: she coached the Woodinville High School Girls Golf team and was active in Young Life.

She remained close to her siblings; Richard (Dick) the eldest, Jean her older sister, and William (Bill) the youngest. In her family she was the "original" Judy, having two sisters-in-law named Judy as well; "Judy W." and "Judy California" as her mother referred to them. She loved spending time with her many nieces and nephews. Judy made lifelong friends staying close to those from her childhood, high school, college and teaching years.

A life-long explorer, Judy set out to see the world in the 1960's and traveled throughout her life. She filled her home with treasures from her adventures in Europe and Asia and her entertaining stories delighted family and friends. She was an avid golfer who belonged to Inglewood Golf Club where she competed for and once won the Women's Club Championship.

Judy loved to write and self-published two humorous Kenwood Golf Club mysteries including The Wedge in the Hedge. She was a passionate reader and loved her longstanding book club gatherings. Later she joined a lively writer's group at the Hearthstone where she lived since 2021. She loved the challenge of puzzles and games and played bridge for most of her life.

Judy's sense of humor and love of family and friends were her special gifts. Come celebrate a life well lived on Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 1:00-4:00 pm at Inglewood Golf Club in Kenmore, WA.
