June PHYLLIS Allen Obituary

Covington, WA - June PHYLLIS (Granberg) Allen went to sleep forever on November 17, at the age of 100. Phyllis was born in Seattle, WA on September 16, 1923 to August and Beda Granberg. She graduated Lincoln High School in 1941. She married William Allen aka Bull on August 16, 1946. They raised four children and many dogs together. She worked for Seattle Public Schools and Seattle Junior Programs. She enjoyed dogs, gardening, needlepointing, quilting and writing stories about her life. She loved talking and waving to everyone on her walks to the Village and around Magnolia School. Her dog Ohso was her constant companion.


She was predeceased by her husband, parents and siblings and their spouses Bertil and Jane Granberg and Edward and Beatrice Rudolph and brother-in-law James Allen.


She is survived by her children John (Barbara Allen), Shirley (David) Glas, Robert (Alice) and Bert (Monique).


Grandchildren Kammie Keane (Brian), John Allen (Christine), Kendra Miller (Tony), William Glas (Peggy), Richard Glas (Delaina Kastner), Kristin Shanley (Robert), Amanda Goins (Eric), Jeffrey Allen (Kimberly Adsit) and Natalie Gumtow.


Great grandchildren Aidan and Liam Keane, Ashley and Kaylee Allen, Delilah and Penelope Miller, Hannah Pollasky, Nathan and Noah Glas, Ella and Clara June Shanley, Alina Allen Madison and Keaton Allen. She also leaves behind other family members and many friends.


A special thanks to her Magnolia neighbors, friends, family, niece Roberta Van der Wel and caregiver Meron who made it possible for her to remain in her own home for so many years. Also thanks to the staff at The Cottages of Covington for their care.
