Katherine D. Roben, 94, longtime resident of Edmonds, WA, passed away on October 28th, 2022 after a valiant battle with cancer.
Kathy was born on July 27th, 1928 to Col. Wilmar and Vera Dewitt in Berkeley CA. After graduating from Roosevelt High School in 1946, she went to the University of Washington, earning a degree in Germanics. While in college, she met Kenneth J. Roben, and they wed in 1951, going on to have four children - John, Dave, Dan and Andy.
While raising the four boys, Kathy was employed by the Edmonds School District, working with special needs students. Kathy enjoyed volunteering for various initiatives , cooking, gardening, fishing, playing Bridge and rooting for the Seattle Mariners. She was a member of the Edmonds Unitarian Universalist Congregation and made many lifelong friends there.
Kathy was preceded in death by her husband, Ken, in 2008 and son, Dan, in 2019. She is survived by her children; John (Pat), Dave (Julie), Andy (Jennifer), her grandchildren; Alexis, Sophie, Jack, and her great grandchild Quinn.
