Redmond, WA - Kimberly Sue Kusters, 57, of Redmond, WA, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2025, surrounded by her family: husband of 35 years, Norbert, and children Emma, Madeline, and Ethan.

Born on February 16, 1968 in Des Moines, Iowa to parents Terrance and Claire Nagle, Kimberly was preceded in death by her father Terry and is survived by her mother Claire and siblings Sheri, Monica, and Sean. After graduating from St. Olaf College in 1990, she married Norbert Kusters, whom she met while they both studied math in Hungary. They moved out to Redmond, Washington to start a new life.

Kimberly strived for excellence in all her endeavors and cared deeply about her friends and family.

Always graceful in her interactions, she put people at ease, making them feel supported and loved. She kept a beautiful and welcoming home. An expert in the kitchen, she filled the table with family and food every night, from weeknight dinners after chess club and piano lessons to big family gatherings like Thanksgiving.

Kimberly passed along her love for music to her children through piano lessons, youth symphony, orchestra camps, and chamber ensembles. Always stylish, she dressed the family for evenings at the Seattle Symphony and Pacific Northwest Ballet. She was a passionate supporter of the arts and an invaluable member of the Seattle Art Museum Supporters.

Kimberly managed the construction and interior design of the family's cottage on Lake Wenatchee. She loved sitting by the fireplace, walking miles on North Shore Drive, and taking the occasional "Tour de Lake" in the boat. Above all, she loved spending time with family: having coffee in bed in the morning, reading by the fire, and beating everyone at Scrabble.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 29th at St. Jude Catholic Church, 10526 166th Ave NE, Redmond, WA 98052. A reception will follow.
