WA - Krishna Veeraraghavan was born in Endicott, NY, to VG and Geeta Veeraraghavan. His early years were filled with mischief-making- he was a speed and agility training program unto himself. His parents, older sister, aunts, uncles, and cousins all became very adept sprinters during this time.
The family relocated a few times over the years, and Krishna discovered what turned into a lifelong shared passion for sweet tea and basketball, and later the Arnold Palmer and 90s rap.
His family eventually moved to Washington state in 2002, where Krishna graduated high school, and went on to the University of Washington, where he earned degrees in Economics and Political Science, followed by a masters in finance from Villanova. He found his forever-home in Seattle, where he could be close to so much of his family, both biological and chosen.
Krishna was a fixture of the UW area, frequenting the farmers' markets, presiding over the Seattle Pizza Society, and socializing at breweries with his dachshund-mix Boogie. He fostered a community around him wherever he went- connecting people around trivia, DnD, travel, various Seattle sports (though UK basketball always held a sacred spot), and dogs. His natural sense of equity and justice, and incisive commentary on the world around him, were a guiding light for those who loved him. He had a penchant for enduring friendships, grounded in loyalty and empathy, and the patience to withstand time and distance- though he loved taking trips to be with his people. He loved to spend time with his nephews, and took particular delight as they followed his lead on hair styles, Mariners' hats, and watches. He was known to everyone as the king of the well timed one-liner that left you in stitches- even during his appearance on Jeopardy!, he earned genuine chuckles from host Alex Trebek. His kindness, calm demeanor, and quick wit will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his parents, his best-mate Boogie, his sister, brother-in-law, and nephews, as well as extended family and friends across the globe.
