Linda Barnes Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Kaye Barnes. Linda passed away peacefully in her home on November 26, 2023 surrounded by family after a years-long battle with cancer.

Linda was born in Pendleton, Oregon on September 10, 1957 to Margaret Ilene Green and Douglas Elwood Green. At the age of 17, she met the love of her life, Doug Barnes. She and Doug were married and moved to Seattle, Washington in June of 1978. She graduated from the University of Washington, after which she led a successful career in sales while raising three daughters alongside her husband.

Linda was passionate about supporting youth in foster care, she dedicated many years as a volunteer and board member at Treehouse and serving as a CASA Advocate. Linda had a magnetic personality and brought joy to every room she entered. Linda loved to throw a party where she had a remarkable way of making everyone in the room feel special.

She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Doug Barnes, her three daughters, Cindy Kramer (Casey), Crystina Barnes (Jonathan), and Madeline Barnes (Madilynn), and grandchildren Conner and Kayla, as well as her sister, Beverly Green, and brother, Gary Green (Lisa). A celebration of life will be held at Inglewood Golf Club on Saturday, January 13 from 2:00-4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a gift in her memory to Treehouse, an organization that empowers youth in foster care and supports them as they pursue their dreams and launch into adulthood.
