WA - Loren David Robinson passed away peacefully on October 19th, 2022 after several years battling Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.

David, as he liked to be called, was born near Washougal Washington to Robert Bruce Robinson and Rosa Louella (Murphy) Robinson and he grew up in Corvallis Oregon. He joined the merchant marine at age 16 and finished two years of college before he entered the Army at age 22 where he was stationed in Germany. He came back to finish school and graduated from University of Oregon with a BA in Business Administration. He met his first wife Shirley Hehn at the University of Washington; they were married in 1955 and they had their daughter Stephanie in 1956. After his first wife died, he raised Stephanie on his own until he moved to Lynwood and married Kathryn Sterling in 1967. In 1968 they welcomed their son Darren while living in Carnation. In his professional life he worked at GE, Westinghouse, Firestone and owned his own businesses starting with Robinson Siding Co. and later Robinson Recycled Building Materials.

David was an outgoing gregarious person who was liked by everyone who met him. He was especially good with children and loved to entertain his grandchildren, adopted grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

A lifelong learner, David was passionate about anthropology, astronomy, physics, and many other scientific pursuits. An avid sports fan he could often be found cheering on his favorite football, basketball, and baseball teams (especially the UO Ducks) as well as watching and playing tennis.

He is survived by his daughter Stephanie, son Darren, grandchildren Laurel, Aubrey, Alexander, Nicholas, Edward, pseudo grandchildren Kalvin, Nicholas, great grandchildren Ethan, Connor, Sophia, Anna and many nieces and nephews.

Celebration of life to be held sometime in 2023.
