Margaret Ann Dempsey (Peggy) Obituary

Washington - Margaret Ann (Peggy) Dempsey of Mill Creek, Washington passed away at Providence Hospital in Everett, WA on Friday, November 10th after a short illness. She was the third daughter born to Ollie and Betty Cuddy of Rocky Ford, Colorado. She and her twin sister entered the world on Easter Sunday morning to the surprise of everyone! Pam, who was born first, was 31 minutes old when the delivery doctor was heard to exclaim, "My God, there's another one!"

Peggy's early years were spent in Colorado. At the age of twelve, Peg and her family moved to Lubbock, Texas for her father's new job as a District Sales Manager for the Quaker Oats Company. She graduated from Monterrey High School in 1968 and attended Texas Tech University for a year. During her sophomore year Peg transferred to Loyola University in New Orleans, Louisiana where she received her Bachelor's in Communications.

Peggy married Lt. Tom Dempsey in October, 1973 and became an "Air Force Wife." While they were stationed at England Air Force Base in Alexandria, Louisiana Peg took a job at a local radio station and discovered that she enjoyed working in radio.. When Tom left the military and they moved back to Seattle Peggy enrolled at the University of Washington School of Business and received her Master's in Business Administration.

She began her radio career at KTAC as a salesperson but eventually became the General Manager of the station. When the station sold the new owners asked her to move to Minneapolis, Minnesota as the GM for another station. Peggy was there for two years before returning to Seattle. Throughout her career Peggy worked at several media outlets with her final job being with Comcast Spotlight in Fife, WA. There she received the prestigious President's Club Award twice as one of the top salesperson in the United States. She was also on several boards for charitable organizations in the Tacoma area.

She is survived by her twin sister Pam (Michael) of Albuquerque, New Mexico and their older sister Ann E. Garner of Mill Creek, WA. as well as three nephews: Edgar (Nikki) von Trotha of Snohomish, WA, Eric (Tracy) von Trotha of Gig Harbor, WA and James M. Baldwin of Albuquerque, NM and several great nephews and great nieces. She also leaves behind a wide circle of friends.

At Peggy's request no services are planned. In lieu of flowers donations to your favorite charities in Peg's name are suggested.
