Renton, Washington - Marie (aka Dottie) was born on May 24, 1943 and adopted by Numa and Mamie Thirion of Newcastle, WA. At the age of 13, she moved with her mother to Renton, WA., where she graduated from Renton High School in 1961. After high school she attended Seattle University and obtained her Bachelors Degree in Accounting in 1964. She began her career in Accounting at the Naval Weapons Ordinance Facility in China Lake, CA. Marie eventually retired as a Grants Specialist with the Environmental Protection Agency in 2006.

While in California, she met her husband, Russell, who was stationed at George AFB, and they were married on April 15, 1972. They then moved to Andrews AFB, MD and had their twin daughters, Jeanette and Jennifer just two years later.

The family moved to Ramstein AFB, Germany in 1983, and Marie quickly found her passion for traveling and shopping while in Europe. After Russell's retirement the family settled back in Renton, Washington in 1985, for which she continued with her passion. Not only did their travels include all corners of the United States, it also included, China, Australia, Mexico and Cruises to Alaska and the Caribbean. She loved going on Russell's Goldwing adventures, following along in the car and 5th wheel and camping everywhere, including Spokane, WA for their annual camping trip with their grandsons. No matter where they went, there wasn't a store she didn't visit.

Tragically, she lost her Husband, Russell on March 25, 2021, and thereafter passed away from Cancer on November 18, 2021. She is survived by her twin daughters Jeanette Hinesley and Jennifer Fassbender (Husband Mark) and her three grandsons - Zachery Hinesley, Owen Fassbender and Evan Fassbender.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either Northwest Harvest, or to King of Kings Lutheran Church in Renton, WA (where Russell and Marie have worshiped for 36 years).
