Washington - Marjorie passed away on the morning of January 2, 2022, in Bellevue, Washington. She was born to Arthur and Elizabeth Horne in Olympia, Washington on October 2, 1926. Marj attended Olympia High School. She graduated from Washington State University and was a member of the Alpha Phi Sorority.
Marj met her husband, Ted Leidy, in Pullman after he returned from World War II. They were married in 1950 and settled in Seattle where they had two daughters. She is survived by her daughter, Ann Hart (Tom Hofferber), grandsons, Tyler Hart (Melissa), Nick Hart and great grandson Griffin Hart, as well as daughter Susan Griffin (Ron) and grandsons, Lee and Scott Griffin.
Marj had a 38-year career at Frederick and Nelson holding several buyer and management positions. Then she taught business at the Seattle Art Institute until her retirement. Marj enjoyed volunteering at The Bellevue Public Library.
Buying trips with Frederick and Nelson spurred a love of travel. She was asked to go to China in 1974 with a group of local executive women which provided lifelong travel friends. She loved to experience other cultures with many trips to places around the world. Marj excelled at whatever she put her mind to with many talents including a love of gardening, entertaining, and painting. She was an original, ahead of her time and will be deeply missed.
