WA - Mary Louise Fielder,(1949-2025),passed away peacefully while surrounded by loved ones. Mary was the cherished daughter of Bill and Beth Fielder and the loving sister of Forrest Fielder Sr. At just 19 years old, Mary began a remarkable professional career that spanned decades at the University of Washington. She ultimately served as the trusted assistant to Dr. King Holmes, head of the Division of Infectious Diseases. Her work in research and writing played a vital role in advancing efforts against infectious diseases, including the fight against the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Mary's commitment to this cause touched countless lives and contributed meaningfully to global health. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Mary possessed an eclectic and irrepressible personality, a true thirst for life and its endless experiences. She

traveled the world extensively, both for work and pleasure, forging deep and lifelong friendships along the way. A brilliant conversationalist with a sharp mind, Mary delighted in spirited debates, always aspiring to solve the worlds problems over lively discussions. Mary was renowned for her warmth as a host, welcoming friends and family into her beautiful home. Her gatherings, especially the legendary 4th of July celebrations, offered stunning views and unforgettable memories for all who attended. Every winter, Mary escaped to Mexico to bask in the sun, reuniting with the same cherished group of friends in a tradition that brought her immense joy. Mary built enduring relationships with neighbors through her daily dog walks and her legendary knack for spotting treasures at garage sales. Mary's heart reached everyone she encountered, leaving an indelible mark of kindness, intellect, and zest for living.
