Mary Colleen Hofbeck Obituary

Mary Colleen Hofbeck, 52, of Lynnwood WA, died Sunday evening, June 18, 2023, at the University of Washington Medical Center. She was born June 21, 1970 in Lenawee County, MI, to the late John and Mary (McVay) Herr. She married Eric V. Hofbeck on May 15, 1998, at St. Margaret Catholic Church in Seattle, and he survives.


Mary was a 1988 graduate of Morenci High School, and went on to obtain a Bachelor's degree in Physics from Adrian College, a Master's degree in Acoustical Engineering from Penn State University, and a Master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Washington. She worked for the Boeing Company and was employed by the environmental engineering firm, Stantec, at the time of her passing. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was an amazing wife to husband Eric and an amazing mother to son Ian - who recently graduated Summa cum laude from Oregon State University.


Surviving in addition to her husband, Eric, is son Ian Hofbeck of Corvallis, OR; two sisters Janell (Marco) Corallo of Salem, OH, and Jolene (Allen) Stafford of Edon, OH; two brothers Gary Herr of Wauseon, OH and Brent Herr of WA; and several nephews and nieces.


The Funeral Mass will be Thursday, June 29, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, in Lynnwood WA, with Father Stephen Okumu as celebrant. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Everett.


Those planning an expression of sympathy may direct memorial donations in honor of Mary to The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, WA.
