WA - Morgan Batali lived a life full of kindness, joy, music and food that made the lives of those around him immeasurably better off for having known him.

Morgan was born on September 1st, 1994, in Berkeley, California and lived most of his life in Edmonds. After developing an early interest in music and food, he attended Edmonds-Woodway, and then Nova High school. He began producing music independently as Courier from Warsaw, and later formed the band The High End. His music can still be found at Soundcloud and Bandcamp.

Well-known throughout the restaurant industry, those who worked in kitchens with Morgan remember him for being the calm in the food-making storm. He started out as a busboy at Scotts Bar and Grill (where he would later perform with The High End) and first worked as a cook at Cheesemonger — his career choice perhaps inspired by participating in the creation of his family's twelve-course Christmas dinners. After working at Salish Brewing Company and MKT Fishmonger, he became executive chef at Vinbero and Kelnero, where he curated special tastings and dinners that reflected both his talents and vibrant personality. The Seattle Times Readers' poll recently recognized his work at those restaurants as some of the best in the area.

Morgan's smile was infectious, and he brought goodness into every room that he entered. He demonstrated how he cared for other people by getting involved in their lives and walking alongside them in both their joy and their pain. The loss of his presence will be greatly felt.

Morgan died on October 2nd, 2025. He is survived by his parents, Ken and Mo, and sister, Mackenzie, plus a collection of nearly twenty cousins and an abundance of aunts and uncles. A celebration of Morgan's life will take place at the Edmonds Yacht Club on November 9th.
