Nancy Anne Newby Skewis, daughter of Glenn and Gaye Newby was born on October 20, 1957 in Seattle, and lived in the Federal Way area before moving to Yelm, Washington. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington State University (1979).
She married Dennis Skewis in August 1979. They made their home and raised their family in the Thurston county area. Nancy worked for Washington State Department of Licensing for forty years, retiring in 2020. Nancy loved spending time with her family and friends and is best remembered for her kindness and generosity.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Dennis, her son, Jeff (wife Georgia), her grandchildren, Jacob and Julie, siblings Dan and Ken Newby, and Janet Enlow. Nancy passed away on June 28, 2023. There will be no public memorial service. Memorial donations can be sent to yelm.dollarsforscholars.org
