WA - Nathylie Claussen passed away September 7, 2025. She was predeceased by her parents, Doris and Chris Bailey, and her sister, Jane Koshney. She was a wonderful mother to her children, Alix and Christopher.
She had many stories about growing up in Juneau, Alaska. She met her husband, Loyde, at the U.W., where he studied art and she became a teacher. They lived in Italy and Austria for several years, then settled in West Seattle. She and her family were longtime members of St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church.
Nathylie taught at Seattle Public Schools and at St. Francis of Assisi School in Burien. After retiring, she traveled all over the world. She was always very active. From Ladies Aid to Croatian Society, to season tickets for ballet and theater, she seldom had an opening on her calendar.
Nathylie had a large, wide group of friends throughout her life and was dearly loved. She loved parties and dancing. Even at 97, she was outgoing and ready for anything, Unsinkable Nathylie!
