After a life filled with teaching, traveling, sports and loving her family, Patricia Pauline Curd, 86, passed away September 25, 2024, in Seattle, Wash.

Born into the Harney family January 15, 1938, in Wagner, South Dakota, Pat later moved to Seattle where her parents opened a small family grocery store.

A proud alumna of Holy Names Academy, Pat furthered her education at Seattle University, where she honed her skills and passion for teaching. She later taught preschool and elementary school before finishing her career in Shoreline School District as a reading specialist.

Pat loved traveling the world with friends and family. Locally, her favorite spots were Lake Chelan and the family's cabin in Long Beach. She enjoyed playing tennis at Sand Point Country Club and was proud of her two lifetime holes-in-one while golfing. Pat also treasured time playing table games - especially mahjong and Rummikub - with her family and friends.

Patricia's greatest joy was gathering her family for every birthday, holiday and special event. She leaves behind her loving husband of 62 years, Larry Curd; and their children, Kristin Weber (Leonard), Kelly Curd (Jennifer) and Kevin Curd (Francine). Pat was also a cherished grandmother to Maddie; Jack; James; Hannah and Hillary. She is also survived by her older brother, Jim Harney (Aladene). Each will miss her deeply.

A service to celebrate Patricia's life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Oct. 4, 2024, at St. Bridget Catholic Church in northeast Seattle. In lieu of flowers, contributions honoring Pat's commitment to her church and community may be made to St. Bridget's Advocacy & Caring for Children Group. Meanwhile, please do as Pat would: enjoy a good cookie; phone a friend; read a book and spend time with family.
