With deep sadness and joyful remembrance, we announce the passing of Peter Dey Wilson on October 2024. Born January 27, 1934, in Newark, NJ, he was the son of William Kenneth Wilson and Elsie Virginia Dey. Peter's life was a tapestry of adventure, service, and faith.
He graduated from Iowa State University and served in the Navy, where he set up the post office in Saigon and taught at the Naval Academy. In 1962, while working for Mobil Oil in Liberia, he met Diane Arlyne Grace. They married in Lisbon, welcoming daughters Elizabeth, Amy, and Susan while living in vibrant cities like Tripoli, Paris, and London.
Settling in California, Peter earned his MBA from Stanford and later moved to Texas, where he flourished in community service at Woodlands United Methodist Church and through Kairos Prison Ministry. In the early 1990s, he and Diane settled in Seattle, continuing his service as a Deacon at University Presbyterian Church.
Peter leaves behind daughters Elizabeth Grace, Amy Wilson, and Susan Cockrell, along with seven grandchildren. He will be missed by many, and his legacy of love and generosity will inspire all who knew him.
