Randy W. Rutledge Obituary

Randy W. Rutledge; born on September 15th, 1952, in Renton, WA. Randy peacefully passed on December 29th, 2024, after a five-year battle with cancer, at his home in Enumclaw, WA. Survived by his family; loving wife of 50 years, Pamela (Walmsley) Rutledge. Daughter, Melissa (partner Chris), grandchild Natalie. Son, Ryan (wife, Jennie), grandchildren, Riley and Presley. Sisters, Pam and Lori.

A graduate of 'the' Renton High School (class of 1970). Randy specialized in many trades, especially as a skilled mechanic, welder/fabricator, builder, and plumber. Randy retired from Scoccolo Construction (SCI Infrastructure) after 35 years of service in the Local 302 Operating Engineers Union as a heavy machine mechanic and shop supervisor. It seemed that there wasn't anything Randy couldn't fix, build, or fabricate. Randy joined the Masonic Lodge in Renton, becoming a Mason with the goal of self-improvement and service to others. Randy valued his family, friends, helping others, and hard work. Randy was extremely proud of his family, taking time to share their accomplishments with anyone who would listen! One of Randy's passions was rebuilding old cars and hotrods. His last project, built from the frame up, was his sleek 1951 Chevy Pickup. If you had an automotive question, you went to Randy for the answer.

We all have a soul, a light that shines bright within...In Randy's memory, please let your light shine through a small act of kindness today, or even better, a lifetime of being kind and grateful.

A memorial will be announced to friends and family in the next few weeks. In lieu of flowers, please consider supporting or donating to Fred Hutch cancer research.
