WA - Richard (Dick) Oscar Ellison, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend passed away on December 15, 2025. Dick was born July 23rd, 1927, in Kansas City, Missouri. He and his identical twin, Bill, joined the Army and served during the Korean War. During his service Dick moved to Seattle, Washington where he met and married Alfhild Engen.
Dick and Alfhild enjoyed living in the Montlake neighborhood of Seattle where they raised their two children. Dick devoted himself to his family and had great enjoyment in time spent with their family and friends. As members of Gethsemane Lutheran Church, they worshipped and volunteered in several capacities. He and Alfhild enjoyed the friends they made at Gethsemane, especially in the Double Ring group.
After his military service Dick worked at Boeing in the accounting field, and he continued to work in that field until he retired. He enjoyed his bowling group every Monday, his golfing group every week, and volunteering at the local Habitat for Humanity every Wednesday. In 2006 Dick and Alfhild moved to The Hearthstone Retirement Living Community at Green Lake where they made many friends and enjoyed the lifestyle there.
Dick now joins his wife (Alfhild) and daughter (Annette) both previously passed and is survived by his son David (Diane) Ellison, granddaughter Melissa (Mark) Pfeifer, and great-grandchildren Stellan and Charlie.
Memorial will be held on January 17th at Gethsemane Lutheran Church.
