NV - Richard Arthur Pozniak, born in Evanston, Illinois on September 19, 1942, passed away peacefully at home in Henderson, Nevada early morning, Monday, November 3, 2025.

Rich is survived by Julie, his loving wife of 35 years and his three children from his previous marriage to Bonnie Pozniak; his daughter Joelle and son-in-law Don McQuilliams; son Edward Pozniak and daughter, Suzanne Pozniak. Rich is also survived by his two nieces, Catherine Pozniak and Eileen Pozniak.

Growing up in Chicago Illinois with his older brother, Ed, he always remembered his Chicago roots, being a "forever" Chicago Bears fan. Rich graduated from University of Illinois in 1964 where he studied Forestry and furthered his education at University of California, Berkeley, earning an MBA and a Masters in Wood Science technology.

After school, Rich made his way to Simpson Timber Company in Seattle, Washington. Rich retired after over 33 years with his final position as Manager of Internal Audit and Analysis for Simpson Investment Company. Through his many years and travel with Simpson, he developed such a love for the beautiful forests of the west coast.

He and Julie built lovely homes on Bainbridge Island, Washington, North Bend, Washington and finally, Prescott, Arizona. During this time, he also began developing his woodworking skills, which became a focus during his retirement. Rich built many beautiful pieces of furniture which were featured in their homes and the homes of family and friends.

Along with woodworking, Rich was an avid gardener and horticulturist, developing beautiful gardens and growing award winning Chrysanthemums.

And as a neighbor, Rich was good at that too. Always first to help neighbors, as a great "around the house" craftsman and builder, he often had the fix for issues in the neighborhood. With his understanding and appreciation of the forests of the Northwest, he would plant trees and share these seedlings with neighbors to enhance the neighborhood and the overall natural environment. His background in finance and management also made him an asset on the homeowners' association board.

And Rich and Julie's house was always the home to so many fun gatherings of Simpson colleagues, to neighborhood barbecues and of course many family get-togethers.

Rich was also able to see so many parts of the world. He and Julie enjoyed so many worldwide cruises, as regular Oceania cruisers.

He truly had a very fulfilled life, nurturing his three kids, enjoying an extremely impactful career in forest management and retiring to a full life, travelling, woodworking and gardening.
