Robert Wayne Barnes Jr., 54 years, died from cardiac arrest on April 17th while walking his dog Rex. Bob was born in Pittsburgh, PA on May 19th, 1970. He was the beloved father of Duncan and Josie. He is also survived by his father Robert Sr. (RW), his mother Barbara, his brother Scott, and the mother of his children, Pamela Jacobson.


After graduating from Penn Hills High School in 1988, Bob attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, VA where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace and Ocean Engineering in 1992. While at Virginia Tech, Bob developed a love of ultimate frisbee which drew him west to Seattle.


In Seattle Bob began his professional career working as an irrigation engineer with Advanced Irrigation. Demonstrating his characteristic dedication, Bob became a part-owner of the company where he worked for the rest of his life.


Called to serve at Epiphany Parish of Seattle, Bob devoted his life to various endeavors including the Vestry, capital campaigns and renovation projects. Bob recently led as a Verger and Eucharistic Minister.


Bob's greatest joy was spending time with his children Duncan and Josie. He enjoyed skiing, cooking, riding his bike and conversation with friends. Bob will be deeply missed.


A funeral service for Bob will be held at Epiphany Parish on May 16th, 2025 at 4:00PM.
