Robert Michael Karmil (Rob) Obituary

Washington - Robert Michael Karmil of Everett, WA passed away unexpectedly on October 30, 2024, in his home, surrounded by family and friends. He was born on January 25th, 1954, in East Chicago, IN to Robert J. and Eleanor Karmil.

Rob had a great life growing up in the small town of Griffith, IN, including the day he locked his older brother Larry in a jail cell. He also had a short-lived career at McDonalds, until he let the Lake City McDonalds burn to the ground. He worked for many additional years in the restaurant industry, and 30 years as a truck driver for the Keebler elves. In his retirement years he enjoyed driving for Uber Eats part-time, keeping watch over the neighborhood, and spending time with friends and family.

Rob was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was a class clown his whole life and had a fast wit and a quirky sense of humor. He made friends everywhere he went. He was known for his thick hair, with never a strand out of place ("don't touch the hair"). He enjoyed golfing, cheering for all the local sports teams, playing trivia, and he loved playing Pai Gow at the local casinos. Rob loved the holidays and enjoyed decorating the house for Christmas.

Rob is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Arlene, children Dani and Nicole Karmil, grandchildren Aiden, Pencey, Jaymee, and Jocelyn, stepchildren Jeremy (Kalie) and Josh Johnston, and brothers Larry (Kim) and Michael (Tim (deceased)). Preceded in death by parents Robert J. and Eleanor Karmil.
