Washington - Born on November 12, 1936, in Seattle to Robert, Sr. and Mamie McIntyre, Bob passed peacefully on October 2, 2025, at 88 years old. He was surrounded by the love of family during his last days and passed quietly at Merrill Gardens in Ballard.

Although he would be the last to admit it, he was an extraordinary father and husband who contributed volumes to every life he touched. Much of his young life was spent growing up with his younger sister, Laura, and parents in National Parks where his father served as a naturalist for the Park Service. He met and married his first wife Carol (nee Custer) at Yosemite, and they were blessed with two children, Deborah and Kevin. Years later, he met and eventually married his 2nd wife, Ann (nee Arnot; formerly Versoi) which expanded his beloved family, adding Ann's children Keith, Cathy and Janet. Bob and Ann settled in Seattle (Ballard) to enjoy their retirement through travel and frequent visits with their extended family.

Among the many accomplishments of Bob's life, he was very proud of his family, he summited Mt. Rainier twice, and he amassed an enormous amount of data regarding the historical presence of mining and tourist activity on Mt. Rainier (which eventually was donated to the Park Service). He was proud to be invited to provide the forward for the book Mount Rainier National Park, Impressions in 2003. He always enjoyed the beauty and magnificence of the natural world as well as traveling, history, science, and current events. Perhaps his greatest joy was sharing his love of life-long learning with family and friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert & Mamie McIntyre; his ex-wife Carol; his wife Ann; and his brother-in-law Don Meyer. He is survived by his sister Laura Meyer; his children Keith Versoi (Jennie), Deborah Baker (Darius), Cathyrn Ivers (Pat), Kevin McIntyre (Joann), Janet Bowns (Chris); grandchildren Olivia, Amanda, Shaun, Jennifer, Nicole, Alex, Emily; and 6 great-grandchildren.

The family will celebrate Bob's life privately on his beloved Mount Rainier.
