It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Walter Leigh. Robert ended his fight with Alzheimer's on 10/16/2025 on Bainbridge Island.

He lived an exceptional life filled with love, happiness, hard work and dedication. Robert was an exceptional gentleman. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, retailer and businessman. Robert had a passion for retail. He was a leader and mentor to countless people as he climbed the ranks at the Bon Marche. He retired as the Executive Vice President-Director of Stores in 1999. Robert's philosophy of "People First" was not only his business mantra, but it was also his focus in every aspect of life. He served on multiple Boards and focused on the growth of Downtown Seattle. He was committed to his family, the arts and served the Catholic Church.

Robert married his wife, Roberta in 1960. They went on to have 8 children; Steve (Pam), Jennifer, Christina (Adam), David (Lynne), Colleen (Grant), Mary, Mike and John. The sadness of his passing is profound, but his legacy will go on for generations to come.

Funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, October 27th at 11:00; St. Cecelia Catholic Church, Bainbridge Is. WA
