Roger was born in Fargo, North Dakota to Robert and Jeanette Diemert. The family moved to Seattle during World War II and settled into the Holly Park Neighborhood. Roger graduated from Cleveland High School in 1949. Shortly after graduation, he married his wife of 71 years, Ruth Palmer. Roger and Ruth moved to the Lake McDonald area of East Renton in 1955, where they raised their children and currently reside.
Roger worked as a Glazier in the greater Seattle area for most of his life. In 1973, he opened his glass shop, Southeast Glass, which is still in business today, owned and operated by his son Michael. He retired from the glazing business in the late 90's.
He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and quick wit and as a man of integrity, selflessness, and kindness.
Roger is survived by his wife, Ruth, and their four children: Linda (Stan) Lawson, Arlene (Fred) Patterson, Michael (Joni) Diemert, Neal Diemert, and by his 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, his sister Corrinne Palmer, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his grandson Roger Patterson, his siblings Robert Diemert, Joanne Smeltzer, and James Diemert, and his parent's Robert and Jeanette Diemert.
There will be a celebration of Roger's life at a later date.
