WA - Ronald H. Clark of Seattle, Washington died at the age of 81 on Thursday, December 11.
Born on April 11, 1944 in Washington D.C., Mr. Clark was a nationally and internationally known lawyer, educator, and prolific writer. For 27 years, Mr. Clark was employed by the King County Prosecutor's office in Seattle, Washington, where he served as a senior deputy prosecutor, head of the trial teams, and, for ten years, as the Chief Deputy of the Criminal Division.
Next, Mr. Clark was the Senior Training Counselor at the National Advocacy Center in Columbia, South Carolina. Following that, he became a Distinguished Practitioner in Residence at Seattle University Law School, where he taught Pretrial and Trial Advocacy, Visual Litigation, and Essential Lawyer Skills.
Alongside his work at Seattle University, he conducted international training for the U.S. Department of Justice in Bosnia and Kosovo, drawing on his experience as a prosecutor and as an educator to train lawyers how to prosecute war crimes in these post-conflict environments.
Mr. Clark was a dedicated Husky fan, having lettered in varsity football at the University of Washington. He enjoyed writing, drawing, traveling with his beloved wife Nancy, and spending time at their cabin in Priest Lake, Idaho.
He is survived by his wife Nancy, with whom he was happily married for nearly 60 years. He was proud of his children Brady, Clancy, and Colby, as well as their spouses Gina, Kara, and Darren. He treasured his grandchildren Malachi, Riley, Beatrice, and Samuel.
No services will be held, at Mr. Clark's request. Donations in Mr. Clark's name can be made to the Seattle University School of Law, the Daybreak Star Indian Cultural Center, and Virginia Mason Medical Center.
