Ronald Stewart Flynn passed recently after returning home from a hospital stay. He was a beloved brother, uncle and friend who never failed to enrich the lives he touched. He had a huge reservoir of knowledge, facts and jokes that he loved to share.

Ronald Stewart Flynn was born in Port Townsend WA. on July 15, 1952 . Ron grew up in the Shoreline area of Seattle and attended St. Marks Catholic School and Shoreline High School. He earned his Master's degree in Communications at the University of Washington.

Ron worked for many years in Seattle as a Chef in a variety of restaurant and catering businesses. About 20 years ago Ron found his true love of working in the non-profit world. He began teaching at the Adult Culinary Program at FareStart and most recently worked at Operation Sack Lunch, a non-profit that delivers and serves meals for the emergency meal system in Seattle. For those he worked with he will always be Chef Ron.

Ron was also a sports encyclopedia for all the major sports, but he had a special love for English football and was an avid Seattle Sounders supporter. Ron was a passionate reader loving all types of literature and non-fiction. Ron was a huge fan of all music, especially The Beatles and other British invasion bands.

He is survived by his sister Kathleen (Kitty) Flynn Mahaffey, brother-in-law Steve Mahaffey, brother Roderick (Rory) Flynn, sister-in- law Elizabeth (Liz) Flynn and nephews Shawn Flynn and Christopher Taylor. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Operation Sack Lunch, or your favorite charity, in Ron's name.
